Introduction to Makanyane Safari Lodge
Makanyane Safari Lodge is a luxurious game lodge, ideally situated on 1800 hectares of private ground within the 75 000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve.
This dramatic reserve is home to lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo, wild dog, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, as well as a host of general game species. Over 360 bird species are also found here.
At Makanyane the emphasis is placed on exciting game viewing, outstanding accommodation and excellent cuisine.
The lodge caters for a total of sixteen guests, ensuring personal attention and exclusivity. Each luxurious suite has spectacular glass-walled bedrooms, offering guest’s uninterrupted views of the surrounding forest and the Marico River. Each suite has a lounge, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, private viewing deck and a sun deck with a spectacular view of the surrounding bush
Makanyane Safari Lodge has earned an enviable reputation for friendly, personal service, outstanding cuisine and a fine wine cellar. The lodge has a heated swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, beauty treatment centre and an on-site beauty therapist. A conference venue, with 24-hour internet access, TV and video library is also available.
The lodge has a private sleep-out hide, hidden deep in the bush, where guests are able to sleep out under the African sky.
Guests at Makanyane can experience the drama, mystery and beauty of Africa’s wildlife, ancient legends and cultural heritage on game drives and bush walks, conducted by experienced, professional field guides. The 1800 hectare private ground surrounding the lodge is reserved for the exclusive use of Makanyane guests, while the game drives are also able to traverse the entire Madikwe Game Reserve.

8 Double thatched luxury suites. All suites have a private sun deck, indoor and outdoor shower, fireplace, mini bar fridge, coffee making facilities, mini-safe, air conditioning, heating, overhead fans, direct dial telephones, private lounge, game viewing deck.
